Frances P. Stegora
Frances P. Stegora, age 93, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd.
My mother lived her life with great compassion, love and kindness for her family and friends. She will always be dearly loved and deeply missed by all of us.
Frances was born on June 22, 1912, to Frank and Rose (Pilarski) Brisk in Platte Township, Minn. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church since 1970. She was a lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary 1647 and a member of St. Lucy's, St. Barbara's Guild. Frances married Barney Stegora on March 10, 1938, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding, Minn. Together they started and operated Barney's Place in Harding, they moved to Baxter in 1970.
Frances is survived by her loving family, including her daughter, Geraldine "Jeanie" and Alex Ebertowski of Pillager; five grandsons and their wives, Al and Marcy, Ken and Tammy, Scott and Tina, Tim and Victoria, Mark and Jana; seven great-grandchildren, Nate, Justin, Joseph, Alexandra, Matthew, Megan and Sam.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Barney; daughter, Sharon Drake; grandson, Paul Drake; two brothers; three sisters; and her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Kristoffer McKusky officiating. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Camp Ripley. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Visitation also will be held the hour before services at the church on Friday.
