BALTIMORE (AP) -- Eunice Kennedy Shriver is out of the hospital following seven weeks of treatment for a postoperative infection.
The sister of the late President John F. Kennedy left Johns Hopkins Hospital on Wednesday.
Mrs. Shriver underwent surgery Oct. 12 to remove a benign pancreatic tumor and was later released from the hospital. She was readmitted Oct. 23 after developing an infection.
Mrs. Shriver, whose sister Rosemary was mentally retarded, organized the first Special Olympics in 1968 in Chicago. Her husband, R. Sargent Shriver, was the founding director of the Peace Corps.
O'Neal gets his college degree
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Shaquille O'Neal is adding sheepskin to his trophy case.
The 28-year-old basketball star will pick up his bachelor of arts degree Friday from Louisiana State University.
When O'Neal left LSU in 1992 after three years to turn pro, he vowed that he would someday get his degree.
"I promised my parents I'd do it, I promised myself I'd do it," O'Neal said. "It took eight years, it should have taken six or seven. I had some other engagements."
O'Neal attended classes during the summer and earned credit through LSU's independent studies program. His degree is in general studies.
Cindy WIlliams' marriage is over
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Cindy Williams' marriage is over.
The "Laverne & Shirley" star, citing unspecified irreconcilable differences, filed a divorce petition Wednesday to end her 18-year marriage to musician William L. Hudson, attorney Gary M. Olsen said.
The 52-year-old actress is seeking joint custody of their 14-year-old son.
Hudson, 51, was once married to actress Goldie Hawn. They had two children -- Oliver Hudson and "Almost Famous" actress Kate Hudson.
Drudge gets new radio gig

Matt Drudge, as expected, has landed on his feet after being dropped by the ABC Radio Network. The Internet snooper and political commentator has been picked up by the Premiere Radio Networks, syndicators of such personalities as Rush Limbaugh and "Dr." Laura Schlessinger.
