The Apostle Paul teaches us in 1 Cor: 15-17, "If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins, and you do not have salvation."
The resurrection of Jesus is of prime importance for every Christian, and, indeed, for everyone on this planet.
But Jesus Christ did conquer death; therefore, we, too, if we believe, have a chance to live again -- an so do our friends and relatives who have already succumbed to the most certain thing in every life -- DEATH!
That is why the most wonderful news that human ears have ever heard was the message announced to some devoted but astonished women outside a rock tomb in 1st century Jerusalem: "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; HE HAS RISEN!" Luke 24:5-6.
The resurrection of Jesus is the foundational teaching of Christianity. If the resurrection is not historic fact, then the power of death remains unbroken, and with it the effect of sin. To mention Jesus Christ and his life, death and resurrection is to get to the root of the Christian faith, for Christianity claims a basis in historical fact.
Allow me to stir you to action with Paul's Letter to the Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED!
Folks, here's the frightening alternative. Matt. 10:33: "Whoever disowns me before men, I (Jesus) will disown him before my father in heaven."
