Zauhar, Good on all-region football team
Cornerback Mike Zauhar and defensive tackle Jason Good, both of Brainerd and St. John's University, have been named to the All-West Region second team.
The teams, selected by West Region sports information directors and by the D3football.com staff, were chosen from 147 nominations. This is the first time the team has been chosen by D3football.com.
Wadena boxers win Silver Gloves state titles
Three Wadena boxers won titles in the state junior Silver Gloves Boxing Tournament last weekend.
Brent Steward, 112 pounds, decisioned Jacob Backus of White Bear Lake for the title.
Patchrick Szathmary, 165, won the title with a decision over Julio Cerenil of White Bear Lake.
Travis Petro, 147, scored a third-round referee stops contest against Cody Goggleye of the Silver Eagles Club. In the finals, Petro lost a split decision to Craig Bower of White Earth.
Wadena's first home card is scheduled 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wadena Armory. Boxers from Wadena, Detroit Lakes, Brainerd and Fergus Falls are scheduled to compete.
