Taylor 'Ted' Nelson

PRINCETON - Taylor "Ted" Nelson, 79, Princeton, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, at St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, Minn.

Ted was born on Feb. 8, 1926, at Waseca, Minn., son of Henry and Gladys (English) Nelson. He grew up and was educated at Brainerd, graduating from high school there. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was united in marriage with Esther Jensen on Sept. 28, 1948, at Brainerd, Minn. They made their home in St. Paul, Minn. Ted attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. They moved to Long Beach, Calif., where they lived for 35 years. Ted worked for the phone company as a maintenance technician, retiring in 1990. They moved back to Minnesota in 1991, settling in Princeton. His wife, Esther, died on Nov. 18, 2001.

Survivors include five children, Cyndy Cook, of Sheridan, Ore., Janet Cassayre, of Long Beach, Calif., Dan Nelson, of Princeton, Sue Cook, of Lakewood, Calif., and Carol Cook, of Richmond, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nerissa Nelson, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Shirley Brehmer, of Brainerd, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Claude Nelson; a sister, Cornelia Bergquist; his wife, Esther; a son, David; a grandson, Paul Shanklin; and a great-grandson, Brandon Lawson.

Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14 at Williams-Hanson-Kaun.

Services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Williams-Hanson-Kaun Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn.
