Anna M. Pentico

CROSSLAKE -- Anna Mary Pentico, 91, of Crosslake, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minn. Services will be Monday, Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. at Crosslake Evangelical Free Church (The Log Church) with the Rev. Fred Cressman officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.

Anna was born on May 23, 1912, in Colfax, Iowa, to Frank Hybl and Adella Grace (Robbins) Hybl. She grew up in Colfax and graduated high school in 1931. In 1933 she married Lee L. Pentico in Colfax, Iowa. Together they lived in Prairie City, Iowa, until they moved to Newton, Iowa, to raise their son. She worked at Spurgeon's Department Store until she retired in 1974. Following her retirement, she moved to Crosslake. She loved to bowl. She also enjoyed watching her son participate in sports. She was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan until she moved to Crosslake and adopted the Minnesota Twins.

Ann is survived by her son Robert (Bob) Pentico and his wife Nancy of Johnston, Iowa; two granddaughters, Shanna (Michael) Fett and Jody (Steve) Larson; grandson Robb (Jenny) Pentico; great-grandchild Jake Larson; sister Vicki Hammer; brother John Hybl. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and three brothers. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Crosslake, Minn.
