Isabel R. Ehresman

STAPLES -- Isabel Ruth Ehresman, 79, Staples, formerly of Motley, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at her home.

She was born Nov. 24, 1922, in Staples to Harry and Katherine (Bentler) Hollister. She graduated from Staples High School in 1941. She attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Minneapolis, graduating as a registered nurse in 1945. She returned to Staples and worked at the Staples Hospital. She married Wilbert Ehresman on June 26, 1948, in Staples. They lived in Motley. She worked at the state hospital in Brainerd for 15 years. She moved into an apartment in Staples in 1999. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Motley where she was active in St. Ann's Circle and Christian Mothers.

Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Kutzler, Crystal, Kathleen Hunt, New London, and Mary Ehresman, St. Paul; three sons, Stephen Ehresman, Sarasota, Fla., David Ehresman, Arden Hills, and Joseph Ehresman, Motley; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Stella Wise, Crosslake.

Her husband; a brother, Robert Hollister; and a grandson died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Motley with Father Robert Landsberger officiating. Burial will be in the Motley Public Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Greater Staples Hospice.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today with rosary at 6 p.m. and parish prayers at 6:30 p.m. at Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
