Cloyd Steinbrecher

PRINCETON - Cloyd LeRoy Steinbrecher, age 93, of Princeton, Minn., formerly of Motley, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at the Elim Home in Princeton, Minn.

Cloyd was born Sept. 27, 1916, to William and Emma (Schroeder) Steinbrecher at Adams County, Illinois.

Cloyd married Pauline Kaler on Aug. 2, 1941, in Chicago. In 1946, they moved to Motley, Minn., where they owned and operated a gas station until 1949, when they sold it and moved to a farm near Motley. Cloyd worked on the railroad for a time and he was also a cook at the Brainerd State Hospital, before becoming a postal clerk in Motley, Minn. He later served as the postmaster for a number of years. He and Pauline moved into the Elim Home in December of 2005. Pauline preceded him in death on Aug. 8, 2008.

Cloyd is survived by sons: Duane (Colette) of Rothsay, Minn., Derald (Nita) of Baxter, Minn., David (Magdeline) of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and Darwin (Karen) of Ogilvie, Minn.; daughters: Darla (Maynard) Solberg of Thief River Falls, Minn., and Diane (David) Veldkamp of Canton, S.D.; brother: Albert (Mary) Steinbrecher of Princeton; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

Visitation will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Princeton, Minn.

Graveside Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2009 at the Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery, Little Falls, Minn.

Arrangements are with Williams Dingmann, Princeton, Minn.
