The third annual teen driver safety seminar will be 5 p.m. Jan. 8 at Northland Arboretum.
The free seminar is open to teens and their loved ones and will provide practical tips and information about key Minnesota legislation affecting teen drivers as well as other teen driving issues, like aggressive and distracted driving or the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Guest speakers will include Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl, Cass County Sheriff's Deputy Tony Cyr and Annie Bahr, who was involved in an alcohol-related crash in which a passenger in her vehicle was killed.
Registration is from 5-5:30 p.m. on Jan. 8 at Northland Arboretum. Food and beverages will be served at 5 p.m. and the seminar will go from 5:30-7 p.m. Door prizes will be given away to attendees, including a grand prize drawing for a Nintendo Wii.
The seminar will be directed to parents and teens of all ages, whether they are driving now or are soon-to-be drivers. While the seminar is free for all participants, people must register in advance.
