HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) -- Talk about a sticky situation.
Rescue workers called Monday to the scene of a fiery tractor-trailer wreck on the Pennsylvania Turnpike had one less worry -- the big rig wasn't carrying hazardous materials in the cargo, only pudding snack packs.
Driver James Hoover, 40, swerved into a guard rail and the truck's fuel tank ruptured, police said.
"Well, we were concerned about what was in the tractor, but we learned a short time thereafter that it was pudding," Capt. Steve Leininger said.
Hoover had managed to escape the mangled, burnt vehicle before police arrived at the crash site near Harrisburg. He was treated and released for smoke inhalation and minor injuries.
Traffic was tied up for hours while piles of pudding snack packs remained on the highway.
