Ring's effort not enough for BHS

Kelsey Ring placed in the top four of three individual events and finished third in the all-around, but it wasn't enough as the Brainerd Warriors lost to the Sartell Sabres 139.85-133.4 in Central Lakes Conference gymnastics Thursday.

Maddie Bearson of the Sabres stole the show winning all four events and the all-around.

"We showed some good improvements on the bars tonight," said coach Dave Maras. "It's been a struggle there for quite a while, but some good things are coming there."

"Madison Smith came out of nowhere and had a great routine on the beam," he added, "but Sartell came in with a good team and went five for five on the beam.

"We've got a lot of new faces, but we're only getting better,"

Becker Walker was fourth on floor with an 8.975 helping her to fifth on the all-around.
