Central Lakes College Theatre will have double the holiday spirit when it stages a new show, The Santaland Diaries, along with an encore of Jacob Marleys Christmas Carol.

Firefighters respond
The Brainerd Fire Department responded to a call at 1:26 p.m. Sunday to 916 Washington St. to a van that was on fire. It was reported that the van was a total loss and the owner's name was not known.

Lester "Dop" Lind, age 88, of Brainerd, passed away at his home on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007. Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 11 a.m. at the Park Methodist Church in Brainerd with the Rev. Rory Swenson officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place at the Minnesota Veteran's Cemetery in Little Falls.

STAPLES - Marlene Dawn Hansell, age 73, of Staples, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. She was born March 18, 1934, in Minneapolis to Peter and Ruby Stolson. Her home and her children were the most important part of her life.
