Brainerd wrestlers second at Coon Rapids

COON RAPIDS -- The Brainerd Warriors won two of three dual meets to finish second at the Coon Rapids wrestling invitational Saturday.

Fourth-seeded Brainerd opened with a 33-21 victory over No. 5 New London-Spicer and beat top-seeded Rosemount 30-27 in the semifinals. Sixth-seeded Coon Rapids beat the Warriors 36-25 for the title.

Vince Sellnow, Jake Smith and Andy Pickar won all three of their matches for the Warriors, who wrestle at Alexandria Thursday before returning home Friday and Saturday for the Paul Bunyan Invitational.
