BACKUS - The state Gambling Control Board has determined that the Backus Legion is in compliance in all areas of its charitable gaming operations, the Backus Legion announced.
Board OKs salary increases
WALKER - Cass County Board members voted Thursday to increase their annual salaries by 3 percent to $25,056.08 and increase elected department head salaries 3 percent, the same percentage increase as negotiated for union employees last year for a three-year contract.

MINNEAPOLIS - Evangeline "Vangie" Zupko-Vados, age 76, of Minneapolis, Minn., formerly of Flensburg, Minn., passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, Minn.
