20 years ago (1986)

Shoppers braved the chilly temperatures to look for Christmas trees at the Brainerd YMCA lot. Holiday shoppers carrying bright decorated packages and drivers transporting trees atop their cars are becoming increasingly common sights.

30 years ago (1976)

Transfers Randy Fabel and Dave Owens combined for 35 points to lead coach Dick Juillerat's Brainerd High School Warriors to their first win of the season 72-64 at Crosby-Ironton.

40 years ago (1966)

The Paramount Theater here will hold a special "Toys for Tot" movie here Saturday. Admission to the movie will be one new toy or one like new. The toys will go to retarded children.

60 years ago (1946)

Chuck Cossette and Roy Fredstrom were named co-captains of the Brainerd Warrior basketball team. The Warriors play Bemidji in their opening game.

80 years ago (1926)

The Economy Drug Co. store, corner Laurel and Sixth Streets has installed one of the latest all white Knight Frigidaire Soda Fountain, the first of its kind in Brainerd.

100 years ago (1906)

Local news: William Murray, of Smiley, is in the city today, having come in by team. He reports the road's in fine condition.
