John Groenwold, Baxter, captured this halo and sundog with a jet stream streaking above the sun Thursday morning over White Sand Lake in Baxter. A sundog, or parhelion, is a bright, sunlike optical phenomenon caused by sunlight passing through ice crystals in the upper atmosphere.
