CROSBY -- Walter Haag, age 71 of Crosby, died on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. He was born on Nov. 11, 1932, in Dean Lake Township to Leonard and Lucy (Evans) Haag. He was retired from the Minnesota Department of Transportation with 27 years of service, serving at the Elk River, Brainerd and Aitkin stations.
He is survived by companion, Sandy Shepard of Trommald; two sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Evelyn Haag of Crosby, andRandy Haag of Cuyuna; seven brothers, Leonard Haag of Mossy Rock, Wash., Don Haag of Nisswa, George Haag of Bethany, Carl Haag of Rochester, Doug Haag of Rolling Stone, Frank Haag of St. Paul, and Kenneth Haag of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Rose Laughton of Rochester; four grandchildren, Benjamin Haag, Daniel Alcox, Brandon Haag and Naomi Haag; five great-grandchildren, Samantha Haag, Taylor Haag, Nicholas Haag, Natalie Alcox and Austin Alcox. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Jeanette, brothers Richard, Raymond, Robert, Edward and Earl, and three infant brothers.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Bible Baptist Church in Crosby with the Rev. Gerald Fisher officiating. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby and an hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
