PINE RIVER -- The Pine River-Backus Tigers girls' basketball team recovered from its loss to Pequot Lakes to trample the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Wolves 70-35 in non-conference action Thursday.
The Tigers' potent offense was led by Sarah Laposky with 28 points. The Tigers started off on fire by taking a 15-2 lead after the first quarter.
Brittany Nelson finished with 13 points. Meg Tabaka 11 and Brooke Rollins 10 for the Tigers.

Jennifer Straughn led the Gobblers' offense, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. She also had four steals and four blocks.
