Grain bin fire causes $5,000 in damages

The Brainerd Fire Department responded to a report of a grain bin fire Friday morning.

The fire was reported at 10:34 a.m. at 8681 County Road 2, Fort Ripley. The property is owned by Wallace and Joan Thesing.

Brainerd Fire Chief Fred Underhill said the grain bin where sunflower seeds were drying was a loss of about $2,000 while the sunflower seeds were valued at $3,000.

No one was injured.
