Woman dies in Gull Lake area crash

A 41-year-old Nisswa woman died Thursday night when the vehicle she was driving left the roadway, hit a tree and rolled, according to the State Patrol.

Julia Evanson died at the scene.

The accident was reported at 9:13 p.m. Thursday on Cass County Road 77 west of Maddens Resort

The State Patrol said Evanson was northbound on County Road 77 about two-three miles west of Madden's Resort when her vehicle ran off the road and she overcorrected. The vehicle then "went into the opposite ditch, hitting a tree and rolling."

Evanson, who was driving a 2005 GMC Envoy, was not wearing a seat belt.
