A 46-year-old man from Mille Lacs County was arrested Wednesday by the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department, said Irv Tollefson, Crow Wing sheriff's chief deputy.
The man was arrested for fleeing a peace officer, obstructing the legal process with force and for driving after license cancellation. He was arrested near Crow Wing County Roads 2 and 138 in the southeast portion of the county.
The sheriff's department received a request from the Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Department for assistance in finding the suspect. Tollefson said the suspect fled from his home on Rainbow Ridge Road when Mille Lacs County deputies arrived at the home.
The suspect was sought as part of a burglary and theft investigation. Tollefson said a stolen deer rifle and a shotgun were found at the suspect's home.
Tollefson said a Crow Wing deputy spotted the vehicle and tried to stop the suspect on County Road 2. A short chase ensued. The suspect then fled on foot and was pursued and arrested by the deputy.
