Conference honors Andy Pickar

Brainerd Warriors wrestler Andy Pickar has been named wrestler of the week by the Central Lakes Conference.

Pickar, a junior, won the Blue Earth Invitational title at 152 pounds with three victories, one by fall.

JV gymnasts cruise past Flyers

The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity gymnastics team rolled past the Little Falls Flyers 128.25-60.22 Tuesday at the high school.

Brianna Lester won the vault with an 8.5, Tessa Helland won the floor exercise with an 8.7, Nicole Kronbeck was first on the balance beam with an 8.3 and Tonya Redshaw captured the uneven parallel bars with a 7.8.

Brainerd sophomore girls fall

The Brainerd Warriors sophomore girls' basketball team lost to the Bemidji Lumberjacks 59-46 Tuesday.

Leading the Warriors was Haley Bower with 15 points and five rebounds. Lauren Kirkpatrick had 11 points, five rebounds and three steals.

Hendrickson to speak to boosters

Brainerd Warriors girls' basketball coach Carl Hendrickson will be the speaker at the Brainerd Sports Boosters Club meeting, which begins noon Thursday at the Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen.

The soup kitchen is located at 923 Oak St. between the Triangle Store and Temple Baptist Church. Parking is available behind the church or on 10th Street..

Wrestler Andy Pickar, the Warrior Athlete of the Week, will be honored.
