Post office mailboxes closed Thursday
The drive-through collection mailboxes on South Fifth Street at the Brainerd Post Office will be closed Thursday morning because of construction at the post office.
Vic Zellgert, officer in charge, said regular drive-thru service should resume by Thursday afternoon.
Child abuse radiothon nears
From noon Thursday to noon Friday, Omni Broadcasting and radio stations K101-FM and WJJY-FM are hosting the annual Radiothon to End Child Abuse and are challenging communities and individuals in Aitkin, Cass and Crow Wing counties to help stop family violence.
For 24 continuous hours, listeners will hear facts about child abuse and neglect in Minnesota. The radiothon will auction a variety of items to listeners. Proceeds will be shared among local child abuse and neglect prevention initiatives and statewide prevention efforts.
