DEERWOOD -- Helen "Peg" M. Kangas, 84, Deerwood, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center of Crosby.
She was born March 1, 1916, in Adrian, N.D., to John W. and Nellie (Leslie) Bodle. She married Stanley E. Kangas on Nov. 13, 1933, in Brainerd. She was a retired occupational therapist with the Cuyuna Regional Care Center of Crosby. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church of Deerwood.
Survivors include two sons, Stanley Kangas and Kenneth "Kip" Kangas, both of Deerwood; two daughters, Nancy Johnson, Crosby, and Gwynne Bobich, Cohasset; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Her husband; a son, John; two brothers, Dwaine Bodle and Oscar "Buzz" Bodle; and six sisters, Sylvia Bachman, Pearl Durham, Hazel Durham, Lacy Bodle, Gladys Van Horn and Elma Grace Bodle died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Salem Lutheran Church of Deerwood with the Rev. David N. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Deerwood Scandia Cemetery of Deerwood.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Koop Funeral Home of Crosby and an hour before services Saturday at the church.
