Baxter police

ARREST - Received a driving complaint at 2:54 a.m. Thursday on the 700 block of Excelsior Road. An officer located the suspect vehicle and the driver fled from the vehicle on foot. After a short foot pursuit the 27-year-old man was arrested for DWI, fleeing on foot, violating a restricted driver's license and open bottle. His vehicle is being held in forfeiture. The Brainerd Police Department assisted.

THEFT - Rochelle Altenbrun on Wednesday reported her purse stolen from her cart at Walmart Supercenter, 7295 Glory Road.

CRASH - No injuries were reported in a crash at 10 a.m. Wednesday on the 7000 block of Glory Road.

ARRESTS - Arrested a 30-year-old man at 1:45 a.m. Thursday on I Street for possession of drug paraphernalia and on several active Crow Wing County warrants.

Arrested a 17-year-old boy for fifth-degree assault, obstruction of the legal process and disorderly conduct following a fight reported at 8:21 a.m. Wednesday at Brainerd High School, 702 S. Fifth St. A 16-year-old boy was cited for disorderly conduct. The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department assisted.

DISTURBANCE - Received a call at 10:04 a.m. Wednesday about an argument between a mother and her son, who wouldn't go to school. An officer spoke with both and advised them of their options.

BURGLARY - Zachery Bestul, 3000 block of Crow Wing County Road 2, Wednesday reported his residence broken into.
