Ski Gull Alpine team's 2004-05 registration has begun.
The team promotes and trains young skiers in the sport of downhill racing and is one of six that participates in the Northland Junior Race Series. This is a learn-to-race program rather than a beginner ski program.
Fee is $70 if paid by Dec. 28, $75 after. The fee does not include lift tickets.
Practices will be Saturdays from 1-3 p.m. beginning Jan. 1 at Ski Gull. Coaches will include members of the Brainerd Warriors Alpine team.
The first Northland Junior race will be Jan. 2 at Mont Du Lac, Wis. Other race venues will be Spirit Mountain, Mt. Ashwaybay, Giants Ridge, Ski Gull and Lutsen. Participants do not have to attend every race.

JV boys' hockey wins
The Brainerd Warriors nipped Little Falls 2-1 in junior varsity boys' hockey Thursday.
Fred Midge and Sam Holland scored for Brainerd (3-0). Chris Whichello, Angelo Polcaro, Bo Jedinak and Travis Roberts had assists. Goalies John Williams and Landon Snider combined to make 15 saves.
On Tuesday, Brainerd edged St. Cloud Tech 3-2 in overtime as Bronson Shepherd scored the game-winner. Williams and Snider shared the goalkeeping.
On Nov. 23, Brainerd beat Alexandria 6-1. Shepherd and Whichello each had two goals, Austin Shiltz and Midge each had one. Jake Carlson, Williams and Snider shared the goaltending.
Baseball meeting Monday
A meeting for coaches and parents involved in Baxter baseball leagues is scheduled 6 p.m. Monday at the parks and recreation office.
Anglers to meet Dec. 14
The Paul Bunyan Chapter of Trout Unlimited will meet 7 p.m. Dec. 14 at Northland Arboretum.
The meeting will include a fly tying session and demonstration. Non-members are encouraged to attend. Fly tying equipment and materials will be available for those who do not have their own equipment, and wish to learn.
