SUN CITY, South Africa (AP) -- South Africa's Ernie Els made a 5-foot birdie putt on the second hole of a playoff with England's Lee Westwood to win the Nedbank Golf Challenge.
Els, also the 1999 winner, earned $2 million -- the richest top prize in golf history. He closed with a 4-under 68 to match Westwood (66) at 20-under 268 on the Gary Player Country Club course. Westwood earned $300,000.
