DEERWOOD - Lukas John Lewandowski, 19, of Deerwood, died at his home Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Brainerd, with Father Tony Wroblewski and Pastor Diane Ciesluk officiating. Friends may gather Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Interment will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley. Memorials are preferred.
Lukas was born on March 16, 1990, in Brainerd, Minn., the son of John and Mary (Langland) Lewandowski. Lukas attended St. Francis of Assisi School before graduating from Brainerd High School in 2008. He was a CNA and had plans to enroll in the RN program at Central Lakes College. He worked for Bethany and Woodland Good Samaritan Villages. His dog, Boozer, was his best buddy. He enjoyed baseball, hockey, photography and electronics. He especially enjoyed quality time camping with his family and taking many family vacations. Lukas loved spending time with his cousins.

Lukas will be missed by his parents, John and Mary; his sisters, Alyssa and Sheelah; his grandmother, Shirley Langland, of Pequot Lakes; his aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald J. Langland; grandparents, John E. and Lorraine J. Lewandowski; and his aunt, Darlene Olson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
