The Brainerd Parks and Recreation Department and the city of Brainerd will host the 26th annual Christmas celebration from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Gregory Park.
Festivities include free sleigh rides, hot apple cider, cookies, hot chocolate, face painting and Santa Claus.
Electronics recycling drive to benefit Cuyuna food shelf
DEERWOOD - An electronics recycling drive is planned from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 12 to benefit the Cuyuna Range Food Shelf.
The event is at Deerwood Technologies, 21301 Archibald Road, Deerwood.
All items are slated for an end-of-life environmentally safe facility in the U.S., Deerwood Technologies reported.
People may bring in computer towers and laptops for $4; keyboards, routers and network hubs, cable boxes, VCRs, DVD and CD players, stereos and radios for $2; cell phones, extra cables, PDAs and MP3 players, digital cameras and camcorders, and power supply/transformers for $1; printers, monitors and fax machines are 50 cents per pound; CDs are taken at no charge.
No appliances or TVs are being accepted.

Aitkin choirs plan holiday concert
AITKIN - Seventh- and eighth-grade choir students in the Aitkin School District will perform their holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Aitkin High School auditorium.
The choirs will be directed by Kelly Blake with accompanist Becky Klingelhofer. The concert will begin with all of the choirs singing the processional, "Hark the Herald Angels Sing."
