Simply Fine raises funds for Ski Gull
Kathy Bjork, owner of Simply Fine, the new men's hair cutting area in the Fine Line Salon and Spa in Brainerd, is donating 50 percent of proceeds from Simply Fine through the end of the year to Ski Gull.
Brainerd firefighters at 3:09 p.m. Sunday responded to a report of smoke in a house on the 1000 block of Mary Street in Brainerd.
"What this tells you is stay off the ice. The ice is not safe at all. This one was fortunate because we were able to get him out, but he put a lot of other peoples' lives at stake, too."
Like a rhinestone artist
Erika Mullen-Hagberg's house in Trommald is filled with art, much of it of her own creation. Some of it is traditional wall-hung drawings; other art is functional, like floor mats; still other art is for the sake of sprucing up a room - such as a nature painting on a piano.

Ohio State, LSU to play for BCS title
