Mother and son die in crash near Brownsdale

BROWNSDALE, Minn. (AP) -- A man and his mother died in a two-car crash near Brownsdale in southern Minnesota.

Danny Ray Davis, 44, and his mother, Verna May Davis, 74, who lived together in rural Sargeant, died at the scene just west of Brownsdale, or about five miles northeast of Austin, around 9 a.m. Monday.

The Mower County sheriff's department said Danny Davis was driving south on County Road 16 when his car collided with a westbound sport-utility vehicle at the intersection with County Road 2. The department said slippery roads may have been a factor.
