Evelyn 'Evie' F. Kunde

HACKENSACK -- Evelyn "Evie" F. Kunde, 73, Hackensack, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at Woodrest Nursing Home in Walker.

She was born Sept. 5, 1928, in Backus to Walter and Cecelia (Heuer) Meissner. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Backus and the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 202 in Hackensack.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; a daughter, Doreen Montgomery, Duluth; two sons, Guy Kunde, Minneapolis, and Kevin Kunde, Proctor; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Marvin Meissner, Alabama.

Three brothers, Gordon, Lloyd and Warren, and three sisters, Laura, Irene and Ruth, died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Backus with Pastor Norman Sincebaugh officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Backus. Memorials are preferred to Salvation Army or the Emmanuel Lutheran Church wish list.

Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Kline Funeral Home in Pine River and an hour before services Thursday at the church.
