CROSBY - Molly Jane Holmvig, age 72, of Perry Lake Township, died on Nov. 29, 2009, at her home.
She was born on Aug. 30, 1937, in Perry Lake Township to Lauren and Bernice (Foote) Thoms.
She married Harlan R. Holmvig on May 28, 1955, in Crosby. She was a member of the Navy Wives Club of America and served as national secretary and regional secretary. Molly was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Seven Points, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Harlan; three sons, Harlan "Gene" Holmvig, of Crosby, Martin Holmvig, of Crosby, and Robert "Joe" Holmvig, of Palm Desert, Calif.; three daughters, Lorraine "Lorri" Haugen, of Aitkin, Lynda Burdick, of Crosby, and Mary Newton, of Houston, Texas; five sisters, Dorothy LaVictoire, of Seattle, Jennie Foote-Thoms, of Deerwood, Bonnie ( Lester) Misner, of Hamilton, Texas, Suzanne (Doug) Tscheu, of Backus, and Clarice (Dennis) James, of Seattle; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Donald, Bill, Douglas, Loren and Lester Thoms; and one sister, Lorraine Thoms.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Church of the Nazarene in Merrifield. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby and on Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church.
