The Brainerd Warriors' gymnastics team took all four events en route to a 139.65 to 130 season-opening victory over the visiting Willmar Cardinals Thursday.
The Warriors also had an individual in the top spot in all four events and the all around.
Head coach Dave Maras said his team put on an impressive performance in its season opener.
"I'm really impressed with the way the kids competed tonight. It's been a long time since I've seen a team go into the first meet with such confidence," he said. "It was pretty obvious from the start when they hit four really nice vaults. We had the best opening bar set in a couple of years. All clean, all finished well. There were no mistakes to speak of. The floor was outstanding. A couple of falls on the beam but we finished pretty well."
Warrior gymnast Carlie Kramer performed on the beam against the Willmar Cardinals Thursday in Brainerd. The Warriors won their season opener 139.65 to 130.

The Warriors' night began in the vault where they dominated the Cardinals taking the top four spots. Sophomore Kelsi Ring won the event with a score of 9.35.
Next was the bars, which was Brainerd's weakest event last season. Thursday the Warriors took two of the top three spots with junior Sam Smith capturing first with a score of 9.2, while junior Carlie Kramer took third with a score of 8.5.
The third event for the Warriors was the beam where they again took two of the top three spots. Smith took first with a score of 9.05 while freshmen Olivia Elsenpeter grabbed third with a mark of 8.15.
The Warriors concluded the night with the floor exercise where they dominated, taking the top four spots. Kramer took the event with a 9.45.
Kramer said she was pleased with her individual and the team's performance.
The key: The Warriors' three all-arounders placed first, second and fourth in the all around.

"I was really happy with my floor routine. The floor and vault are my biggest strengths," she said. "A lot of people stepped up tonight and we got one of our highest scores I remember in our first meet. It really set the bar high for the rest of the season. Our bars could use some improvement. It was kind of our weak spot last year and we've improved, but we still need to pick it up a bit."
The opening meet featured three Warriors competing in all four events in Smith, Kramer and sophomore Becky Walker.
Smith finished first in the all around with 36.2 while Kramer took second with 35.150 and Walker fourth with 33.2.
Maras said having three quality all arounders will be a huge strength for his team this season.
"It's not very often that you have three all-arounders. All three are good in every event and are getting a lot of points," he said. "Carlee had a great floor tonight. Sam had great bars and beam. Becky had a solid floor routine as well. That's great leadership."
