Gertrude F. (Midlo) Mather

MINNEAPOLIS -- Gertrude "Gerty" F. (Midlo) Mather, nearly 93 years of age, peacefully passed on to heaven from St. Therese Home on Nov. 28, 2004. Cared for by her loving family, dedicated staff and pastoral care. Now with her parents, Anna and Joseph, husband Al, four sisters and two brothers, daughter Pat Cerisier, son-in-law Chuck, and grandson Chuckie. Gerty will be deeply missed by her three daughters, Arlene (Boots) DuChene, Karen (Corky) Colleran and Sandy Miezwa. She leaves 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and her sisters Betty Fairbanks, Lu Invie; and brother Ray Midlo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She retired from Cream of Wheat and enjoyed the old northside of Minneapolis where she belonged to the Ascension Parish. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. from Kapala-Glodek-Malone Funeral Home, 7800 Bass Lake Road, New Hope, Minn. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday 12:30 p.m. at the Ascension Catholic Church, 1723 Bryant Ave. N., Minneapolis. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope.
