CROSBY -- Minnie Lound, of Crosby, Minn., died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center. Minnie was born Dec. 4, 1906, in Fleming Township, Aitkin County. Parents were John Eric and Ether Ottillia Erlandson. She grew up on farms in the Fleming, Kimberly and Palisade area. She married John Hilbert (Bert) Lound on July 28, 1924. They later moved to Duluth, Minn., and later to Birch Creek Township in Pine County. They raised a family of four children. After retiring from farming, they moved to Baxter, Minn., Auburn, Washington, and finally to Ironton, Minn., where they remained until Bert passed away on Aug. 3, 1978. Minnie then moved to the Aitkin Manor Apartments where she lived until she moved to the Cuyuna Regional Care Center. While at the Aitkin Manor, she belonged to RSVP and contributed many knitted and crocheted items. She continued this activity until the end and made presents for all her descendants' Christmas every year.
She was a member of the Ironton American Legion Auxiliary, Crosby Eastern Star and the Crosby-Ironton Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert, her daughter, Ilene Norbeck, two son-in-laws, a daughter-in-law, her parents, and nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by three children, Margaret Norbeck, of Issaquah, Wash., Herbert (Bud) Lound, of Deerwood, Minn., and Richard Lound, of Crosby, Minn.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Minnie's life will be scheduled at a later date.
Commitment services will be held graveside at Irondale Cemetery (Woodland Cemetery) at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2004.
