EXTRA CREDIT
Alexander Ryan, Evan Werthman, and Matt Solid represented Asia Pod at Washington Middle School in the Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl. The quiz bowl is a knowledge competition open to 6th grade teams from Minnesota. They placed 6th out of 29 teams entered from Minnesota.
Fires
The Brainerd Fire Department was called at 9:52 a.m. Monday to East Gull Lake because of a cut gas line off Birch Island Road.

BURGLARIES -- Leonard Minich, Crosslake, Wednesday reported his lake home broken into.

80 years ago (1924) - Due to the Radio Digest which published a misinformed article on the lack of churches, ministers, church music, etc., in Brainerd, this city has gained a lot of poor advertising. Stories from St. Paul, Minneapolis, Duluth, Little Falls and Bemidji papers strove to correct the injustice done to Brainerd.

A 43-year-old Osakis hunter who was last seen seven days ago hunting in the woods near Remer is still missing, the Cass County Sheriff's Office reported Sunday.

Bank robbery suspect still at large
Authorities continued their search for the suspect in Friday's robbery of a Backus bank but have made no arrests, the Cass County Sheriff's Office reported Sunday.

School to close, memories live on
The school days at Washington Middle School in Brainerd may be coming to an end soon, but the emotional ties that have been formed at the 75-year-old school building won't fade away when the building closes as a school Dec. 17.

CROSBY -- Minnie Lound, of Crosby, Minn., died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center. Minnie was born Dec. 4, 1906, in Fleming Township, Aitkin County. Parents were John Eric and Ether Ottillia Erlandson. She grew up on farms in the Fleming, Kimberly and Palisade area.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Dominic Chalmer Trusty, infant son of Philip and Constance Trusty, passed away Nov. 26, 2004, at the Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born Nov. 15, 2004, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Kenneth M. Davis
Ken was born on Jan. 3, 1937, in Malden, Mass. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. On April 3, 1976, he was married to Connie Wiederich. They spent many years together on the East Coast before moving their family to the Bertha area in 1990.

DULUTH -- Allen "Bud" LaDouceur, 86, died peacefully with his daughter by his side Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at St. Mary's Hospice, Duluth, Minn. Allen lived with his daughter, Rosanne, son-in-law Al and caregiver Alex, his grandson, in Duluth since his wife of 62 years passed away.
