PINE RIVER - Gerald W. Johnson, age 86, of Pine River, passed away Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
He was born July 19, 1922, in St. Paul, Minn. He was president of the U.A.W. Local 107 for over 20 years at the Minneapolis Moline. Gerald was a life-time member of the Hopkins VFW 425 and Pine River Legion 613. He retired to Pine River 25 years ago spending most of his time fishing for sun fish on Norway Lake, playing cribbage and golfing.

Survived by his children; Roseanne Brown, Bradley Johnson and Jennifer Kish; his four grandchildren, Teresa Popp, Jesse Brown, Matt Miller and Elizabeth Miller; one great-grandchild, Dakota Brown; along with his long-time companion, Shirley Kulla; and his brother-in-law and wife, Doug and Lorraine Keister.
Preceded in death by his wife Helen Johnson and son Richard Johnson.
Services will be 12 noon on Monday, Dec. 1, at Kline Funeral Home in Pine River with Pastor Mark Erickson officiating. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
