The absence of snow did not stop hundreds of people from enjoying a day of festivities in Nisswa Friday at the 27th annual Festival of Lights.
From bonfires to apple cider, children and their parents sampled a full range of holiday activities.
The holiday lights were officially turned on at 5:30 p.m. to bathe the city in the colors of Christmas. Santa arrived right on schedule and was greeted by a long line of children eager to tell the old gent their wishes for the season.
Parents and children lined up Friday night (below) to see Santa at the Nisswa City of Lights Festivalt. The holiday lights were turned on to kick off the Christmas season.

The evening drew to a close with fireworks exploding in the cold crisp November sky.
