The absence of snow did not stop hundreds of people from enjoying a day of festivities in Nisswa Friday at the 27th annual Festival of Lights.

From bonfires to apple cider, children and their parents sampled a full range of holiday activities.

The holiday lights were officially turned on at 5:30 p.m. to bathe the city in the colors of Christmas. Santa arrived right on schedule and was greeted by a long line of children eager to tell the old gent their wishes for the season.
