William Phillips

McGREGOR -- William A. Phillips, 67, McGregor, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at his home.

He was born Oct. 14, 1935, in Chicago to William and Anna Katherine (Schmit) Phillips. He grew up and attended schools in McGregor. He then worked as a logger and sawyer operating his own sawmill for many years. He did backhoe excavating. He married Bernice A. Boyd in 1965 in North Dakota. They lived in the McGregor area.

Survivors include his wife; one son, George Phillips, Aitkin; one daughter, Jenny Pike, McGregor; and three grandchildren.

His parents, brothers and an infant son died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at McGregor Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Vanderwerf officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in McGregor.

Friends may call one hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
