CROSBY -- James David Deblock, 70, Crosby, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
He was born July 23, 1932, in Riverton to John and Mary (Puchreiter) Deblock Sr. He married Kathleen Theresa Simmons on Dec. 29, 1956, in Crosby. He owned and operated Deblock Construction since 1958. He was a Army veteran and was a member of the Myrin James American Legion Post No. 443 in Ironton. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby and the Cuyuna Range Knights of Columbus. He served as a firefighter on the Crosby Fire Department from 1962-1982. He served as fire chief from 1970-1982.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen "Kay"; one son, James Deblock, Chanhassen; three daughters, Marie Heggestad, Sparta, N.J., Kathryn "Jo" Reifenberger, Aitkin, and Amy Turk, Deerwood; one brother, John Deblock, Cuyuna; two sisters, Josephine Russell, Los Angeles, and Toni Lohan, Leesburg, Fla.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
His parents died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby with Father Howard Eisel officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby with full military honors by Myrin James American Legion Post No. 443 in Ironton.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
