LITTLE FALLS -- Clarence Tschida, 77, Little Falls, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls.
He was born Nov. 17, 1925, in Pierz to Joseph and Frances (Hoffman) Tschida. He graduated from Little Falls High School in 1943. He served in the Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He was involved in the liberation of Luzon, Southern Philippines. He married Eileen Boser on May 8, 1949, in Lastrup. The family moved from Pierz to Little Falls in 1969. He worked for the Minnesota highway department for 32 years. He was retired the past 16 years. He served with the Pierz Volunteer Fire Department for 18 years. He was a lifetime member of Little Falls VFW Post No. 1112.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Gary Tschida, Pierz, Greg Tschida, St. Cloud, and Glen Tschida, Elk River; one daughter, Cindy Eversman, Elk River; four sisters, Lorraine Grahn, Mora, Clara Brenny, Foley, Loretta Lee, Cannon Falls, and Melitta Mae Ducklow, North St. Paul; and six grandchildren.
One brother, Leo, died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls with Father Mark Innocenti officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery in Pierz. Military rites will be provided by the Little Falls VFW Post No. 1112.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, with Christian Mothers rosary at 4:30 p.m. and parish prayers at 6:30 p.m., and from 9 a.m. until services Saturday at Brenny Funeral Home, West Chapel, in Little Falls.
