"Razzle Dazzle: The Miss Little Falls Pageant" may change a few ideas about the traditional beauty contest. Eight contestants will compete for the crown at 8 p.m. Friday in Charles Martin Auditorium, Little Falls High School.
But there's a twist: The contestants include some of the town's leading male citizens -- dressed in drag. Sponsored by the Hole in the Day Players, the event is intended to raise money for the Little Falls school district's art programs.
Tickets are $7 at the gate. It should be a gas.
The Pequot Lites Celebration will be held Saturday at the Trailside Building in Pequot Lakes, with a bonfire, a visit from Santa Claus, hay rides, Christmas caroling, apple cider, hot chocolate and cookies.

If you want to get into the Christmas spirit, consider attending the Staples Area Men's and Women's choruses presentation this weekend of Handel's "Messiah."
The choruses will be joined by musicians from the Staples-Motley High School, and the presentations -- at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Centennial Auditorium -- will feature tenor Steve Hoemberg. A Staples native, Hoemberg is joining the high school faculty in January as director of choral activities.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students at the gate.
Another "Messiah" performance will occur at 7 p.m. Sunday at Assembly of God Church in Aitkin. The Aitkin Community Chorus will perform the Christmas portion of the "Messiah."
