Leonard "Bud" E. Holm, 79, Brainerd, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at St. Joseph's Medical Center.
He was born June 27, 1922, in Tindall, S.D., to James E. and Matilda H. (Krejoi) Holm. They moved to St. Paul when he was 2. He graduated from Mechanic Arts High School in St. Paul in 1940. He entered the Army and served as a master sergeant in the European Theater from March 1, 1943, to March 27, 1946. He worked at the 193rd General Hospital in charge of administration. He married Phyllis J. Simons on Oct. 14, 1950. He attended St. Paul Rasmussen Business School and worked as an accountant. He was the financial manager for International Harvester in St. Paul. They moved to Crystal Lake, Ill. He worked as cash control manager for Gould Inc. in Chicago. They moved to the South Long Lake area in 1990. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brainerd.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Terrene Conrad, Rexburg, Idaho, and Lennay Crockett, Vancouver, Wash.; and six grandchildren.
A sister died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd with Bishop Bruce Hebdon officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd. Military rites will be provided by VFW Post No. 1657.
