NISSWA -- Lennen R. Naley, 84, of Nisswa. Born Sept. 19, 1919, to Magnus L. and Manda A. Naley. He married Ilene Madison on Feb. 28, 1943, while on military leave. They have lived in St. Paul for six years, Eagle Bend for 11 years, Staples for 18 years, and at their Gull Lake home for 17 years.
He had a bachelor of science and master of arts degrees in Agricultural Education from the University of Minnesota. He was an Adult Farm Management instructor at the Staples Technical Institute until his retirement in 1984. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1940-1945, and attained the rank of Technical Sergeant.
Memberships included the Lutheran Church of the Cross, Nisswa; Golden "K" Kiwanis, Brainerd; Planning and Zoning Commission, Lake Shore; and a Life Member of the MEA.
He is survived by his sisters, Margery Schmidt and Frances Finnay; Son, Lowell (Linda), grandson Erik (Kirstin), great-granddaughter Ella; Son Dr. Rolf (Dr. Lilly), granddaughters Krysta and Alyssa, and grandson Alex; and Daughter LeAnn (Dave) Pottebaum, grandsons Kyle and Drew Crawford.
He was preceded in death by wife Ilene, parents Magnus and Manda Naley and infant brother Donald.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd, and at the church Tuesday, one hour before the services.
