CROSSLAKE -- Sample goodies at the Christmas bazaar, bake sale and cookie walk from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Crosslake-Fifty Lakes American Legion.
Sponsored by Post 500 Auxiliary, the event offers holiday crafts, a Christmas raffle and a soup kitchen and baked bread.
Kick-off set Dec. 8
CROSSLAKE -- Santa's Crosslake Kick-off will be held Dec. 8.
Santa will arrive at 11:30 a.m. at the Crosslake Community School for lunch. The school will offer a bake sale and Santa's Gift Shop where children can shop for Christmas presents for their parents.
At 1:30 p.m., Santa and the children will travel to the Chamber's Crosslake Information Center by horse-drawn hayride provided by Little Pine Livery.
From 2 to 5 p.m., Santa will listen to the children's holiday wish lists and photographs with Santa will be available for $5.
From 3 to 3:30 p.m. the Crosslake Christmas Clown will perform a holiday reading for children at the Information Center.
The old-fashioned, horse-drawn hayrides through town will continue all afternoon, departing from the Northern National Bank parking lot. The bake sale and Santa's Gift Shop will continue at the Information Center.
At 4:30 p.m., there will be a bonfire, as well as cups of cider, s'mores and hot dogs. All proceeds from the food sales will benefit the Crosslake Community School.
A business decorating contest will be held in Crosslake. Shores and More Realty, Moonlite Bay, Judy's House of Gifts, Northern National Bank, Aunt Bea's Pantry and Crosslake Law Offices will create festive holiday decors.
