HARDING -- Stanley "Butch" B. Bieganek, 74, Harding, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, of cancer at his home.
He was born in Harding on Aug. 24, 1927, to the late Joseph and Rose Bieganek. He lived his entire life in Harding and attended Harding grade school, Crosier Seminary and graduated from Little Falls High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and returned to Harding to take over Bieganek Implement from his father. For more than 45 years, he ran the John Deere implement dealership in Harding. He was an active member of Holy Cross Parish in Harding and served on the parish council for several years in many positions. He was an active member of the Holy Cross Parish's Holy Name Society and was recognized as the manager of the grand raffle for Holy Cross's annual bazaar. He was a member of Knights of Columbus for more than 25 years and was honored this year with an honorary lifetime membership. He also was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of the Pierz School Board from 1974-1993. He served on the Harding City Council for many years. He also served as Harding postmaster. He and his wife, Marilyn, were married 50 years.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Ramona Hanneken, Deborah Mondloch, and Kay Brausen; four sons, Michael Bieganek, William Bieganek, Jeffrey Bieganek and Justin Bieganek; four sisters, Sister Justina Bieganek OSF, Helen Austin, Delores Preimesberger and Rita Kainz; five brothers, Tony Bieganek, Leo Bieganek, Ted Bieganek, Tom Bieganek and David Bieganek; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
His parents, two sisters and two brothers died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding with Father Roger Thoennes officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Parish Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today at the Brenny Funeral Home in Pierz with a Franciscan Sisters prayer service at 4 p.m., Holy Name Society at 6:30 p.m., parish prayers at 7 p.m. and Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends also may call from 10-11 a.m. Thursday with a rosary service at 10:30 a.m. at the church.
