BAXTER - Jeannine Hummel, 66, of Baxter went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010, at Essentia Health's St. Joseph's Medical Center. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, from 5-8 p.m. at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Services will be Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Heritage Assembly of God Church in Baxter with Pastor Mark Boone officiating. Interment will be at Baxter City Cemetery.
Jeannine was born on July 13, 1944, in Brainerd. She was the daughter of John and Darlene Sullivan of Baxter. She married Larry Hummel in 1962. She attended the Baxter and Brainerd schools, graduating and receiving her diploma from Washington High School. She attended Assemblies of God Church in Baxter. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital for 30-plus years. She enjoyed cooking, flowers, shopping, garage sales looking for antiques or just tinkering with things. She especially liked being at the baseball games that her children and grandchildren played. She enjoyed her great-grandson, great- granddaughter and grandchildren. They were the love of her life. She was very proud of her children, two of whom still work at St. Joseph's Hospital for more than 25 years and a son who has his own business.
Jeannine is survived by her husband, Larry; daughters, Kim (Brad) Horn of Baxter and Denise (Todd) Peters of Brainerd; son Jeff (Kari) Hummel of Pillager; grandchildren, Amanda (Stephen) Hafften of Pillager, Amber Hack of Baxter, Kayla Peters of St. Cloud, Nicholas, Nicole, and Justin Hummel of Pillager, Cynthia Volkmuth and Jayden Hummel of Randall; great-granddaughter Brenna Hafften of Pillager; father, John (Millie) Sullivan; brother, Mike (Linda) Sullivan of Brainerd; and sisters, Judy (John) Wagnitz of Michigan and Dawn (Tom) Jones of Florida and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Darlene Sullivan; son James Hummel; and great-grandson, Blair Hafften, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
