MOTLEY - A 25-year-old Cass Lake man was critically injured in a crash Wednesday north of Motley.
Thomas Casey, a passenger in a vehicle driven by Teresa Winch, 43, Bemidji, was ejected when the vehicle went off the road.
The crash was reported at 7 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 64 north of Motley. Winch and a second passenger, Wabigwahi Mountain, 25, Cass Lake, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Casey, a back-seat passenger, was not wearing a seat belt and suffered severe head and chest injuries, the State Patrol reported.
The GMC Safari was heading south on the highway when it went into the ditch, struck an approach and landed on the road, blocking both lanes of traffic. The vehicle sustained moderate damage.
Casey was transported to Lakewood Health System in Staples. Mountain and Winch were both wearing seat belts and also were taken to Lakewood Health System. Updates on their conditions was not available Friday.
