Sharon Carlson, local teacher and performer, will help people get into the holiday spirit when she speaks at the Brainerd Public Library as part of the First Thursdays Speaker Series.
Carlson will present a slide show based on the book, "A Cup of Christmas Tea," as well as give her humorous presentation titled De-Stressing the Holidays.
"A Cup of Christmas Tea" was written by Tom Hegg and illustrated by Warren Hanson, both Minnesotans. It is a simple, heartwarming story of how one man's reluctant visit to an elderly aunt's house renews his holiday spirit and brings him unexpected joy.
The event is 7 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Brainerd Public Library. The Friends of the Brainerd Public Library will serve tea and refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.
For more information, contact Wendy Lee at the library at 829-5574.
